  • Infection: most common cause of tinea capitis in the USA (e ndothrix) , tinea corporis, tinea pedis
  • Colony: varying color → reverse reddish brown
  • Hyphae: septate hyphae with spiral coils
  • Conidia: variable sizes (teardrop, balloon, matchstick forms)
  • Misc: partial thiamine requirement
