Which infectious organisms cause paronychia?
Typically, acute lesions are caused by bacteria such
as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Escherichia
coli. Chronic infectious paronychia is more commonly
due to Candida sp., molds (Scytalidium sp.), syphilis,
tuberculosis, and leprosy. |
