- Non-scarring alopecia with diffuse shedding of hair typically involving
entire scalp, often due to trigger
- Triggers include pregnancy (typically 2–3 months after delivery), fever,
chronic illness or severe stressor, diet or starvation, hypothyroidism,
certain medications
